Dear Music Parent,
Your child, ___________________________________ has expressed an interest in and been chosen to perform in this years N.Y.S.S.M.A., (New York State School Music Association) solo and ensemble festival. This appointment is a great honor and responsibility. Your child would be expected to perform scales, a required solo, and sight-reading in front of an adjudicator to receive a rating and an award. This years festival takes place on May 18 and 19 at Fulton Junior High School for levels 5 and 6.This years festival takes place at on June 1 and 2 at Sauquoit Valley High School for levels 1-4.
For performance levels 1-4, there is a $14.00 fee for a ten minute time slot reservation. Piano performance fees have gone up to $19.00 for levels 1-4 due to the increased cost of piano rentals. For performance levels 5-6, there is a $21.00 fee for a 15 minute time slot. Level 5-6 piano, and L.6 All State solos cost $26.00 for a 15 minute time slot. Registration fees are non-refundable. If your child is performing for more than one time slot, please fill out a separate registration form for each performance. If you are performing with an accompanist, you may request a room with a piano but are not guaranteed one.
If you wish to register your child for this competition, please fill out and return the registration slip below and return to your music teacher with cash or check made out to "RFA Band Club" no later than Friday, March 16, 2007.
